Robert Half is seeking a Controller to lead a Manufacturing/Construction operation in Concord New Hampshire area. This Controller position will oversee cost accounting, financial reporting, and monthly close activities while supporting a manufacturing environment with accurate analysis and strong controls. The Controller role also partners with operational leaders to improve visibility into plant performance, labor compliance, and billing accuracy.
Responsibilities:
• Direct plant accounting activities, including monthly close, account reconciliations, and preparation of timely financial results.
• Manage manufacturing cost accounting processes to ensure inventory, labor, and production costs are recorded accurately.
• Maintain and analyze standard costs, investigate variances, and provide recommendations to improve cost performance.
• Oversee billing-related financial activities and help ensure invoices and supporting documentation are complete and accurate.
• Monitor prevailing wage compliance by reviewing payroll and project-related records for adherence to applicable requirements.
• Partner with plant and operations leadership to develop budgets, forecasts, and performance reporting that support business decisions.
• Strengthen internal controls and accounting procedures to promote accuracy, compliance, and consistency across plant finance activities.
• Prepare financial analysis that highlights trends, operational risks, and opportunities for improved profitability.
• Proven experience in plant or manufacturing accounting with a strong foundation in cost accounting.
• Hands-on knowledge of standard cost accounting, variance analysis, and inventory-related financial reporting.
• Demonstrated ability to manage month-end close processes and deliver accurate financial statements on schedule.
• Familiarity with billing processes and financial documentation within a construction or manufacturing setting.
• Understanding of prevailing wage requirements and related payroll or compliance review practices.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with close attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate financial information clearly to operations leaders.
