Job Description Our client is seeking an experienced Sr. Underwriting Specialist, Workers' Compensation to support their Massachusetts region. This position will focus on underwriting and managing Workers’ Compensation risks, with an emphasis on municipalities, public entities, and other complex accounts throughout the region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Underwrite new and renewal Workers’ Compensation business while maintaining established profitability and growth objectives.

  • Evaluate municipal, public entity, and commercial Workers’ Compensation risks throughout Massachusetts.

  • Review applications, loss runs, payroll information, experience modification factors, classifications, and other underwriting documentation.

  • Analyze account exposures and determine appropriate pricing, terms, conditions, and coverage within established underwriting authority.

  • Manage an assigned book of Workers’ Compensation business and monitor accounts for profitability, loss trends, and changes in exposure.

Qualifications

  • 5-7+ years of Workers’ Compensation and/or Commercial Casualty underwriting experience.

  • Prior experience underwriting municipalities, public entities, governmental organizations, or similar Workers’ Compensation risks strongly preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of Massachusetts Workers’ Compensation regulations, classifications, rating principles, and underwriting practices.

  • Experience evaluating loss history, payroll exposures, experience modification factors, and complex Workers’ Compensation risks.

Salary & Benefits

  • $120,000 - $135,000 (based on experience)
