Machine Operator
Location: Devens, MA 01434
Position Type: Contract
Pay Rate: $21.76/hour
Shift: Monday–Friday | 5:00 AM – 1:00 PM (8-hour shift)
Overtime: Available and may include 12-hour shifts and Saturdays
Interviews: Required
Position Overview
Seeking a dependable and safety-focused Machine Operator III to join its corrugated packaging manufacturing team in Devens, MA. In this role, you will be trained to operate corrugator and converting equipment used to manufacture high-quality corrugated packaging products. This position requires attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate corrugator and converting machines to manufacture corrugated packaging products.
- Perform routine machine setup, adjustments, and basic preventive maintenance.
- Monitor machine performance to ensure quality production and proper dimensions.
- Inspect finished products for defects and take corrective action when necessary.
- Read tape measures and verify product specifications.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to achieve production goals.
- Assist with loading and unloading materials.
- Operate additional production equipment as required.
- Support and mentor new team members when needed.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
- Ability to work safely in a fast-paced, non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment
- Ability to read and understand basic English
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to read a tape measure accurately
- Ability to identify product defects
- Willingness to work overtime, including Saturdays
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous machine operating experience
- Experience working in a high-speed, high-volume manufacturing environment
- Mechanical aptitude
- Manufacturing or production experience
- Corrugated packaging experience is a plus
