Job Description

Job DescriptionPosition Summary:

Manage the chemical warehouse, including ordering, storage and delivery chemicals to operations. Also manage all hazardous waste operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage, direct and complete scheduled decontamination projects
  • Maintain spill response supplies and perform spill response actions
  • Monitor facility environmental conditions and correct deficiencies
  • Mix Marking Line solution
  • Supervise and direct decontamination jobs and all spill responses
  • Manage all satellite waste areas, the Central Accumulation Area and roll-off with WWT filter cake
  • Maintain all waste profiles with transportation and disposal suppliers
  • Package and label all regulated wastes for shipment
  • Deliver chemicals to operations and collect waste from operations
  • Learn to operate WWT operation for backup purposes
  • Perform periodic inventory of chemicals and order as needed
  • Maintain cleanliness in Chemical Warehouse and Central Accumulation Area
  • Adhere to all EMS safety rules
  • Other duties as required

Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Related decontamination work experience preferred
  • Knowledge of state and federal rules governing waste collection, storage, labelling, packaging, and shipment preferred

Physical Demands:

  • Heavy lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Standing up to 90% of time

Environment:

  • Manufacturing
  • Dust, dirt, grease, chemicals, some odors, some oil fumes, and noise
  • Exposure to temperatures potentially above 90 degrees at times

Training Requirements and Frequency:

  • HAZWOPER (29 CFR 1910.120 (e)), limited site worker initial and annual refresher
  • DOT Hazardous Materials Regulations (49 CFR Parts 172 and 173)
  • RCRA Hazardous Waste Training (40 CFR 262.16 and 262.17)
  • Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure Plan (SPCC) training (annual)
  • Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan training (annual)
  • Hazard Communication Program (29 CFR 1910.1200, annual)
  • Confined Space Entry Program (29 CFR 1910.146, initial)
  • Flammable and Combustible Liquids Safety (29 CFR 1910.106, initial)
  • Hearing Conservation (29 CFR 1910.95, annual)
  • Control of Hazardous Energy (29 CFR 1910.147, initial)
  • Powered Industrial Truck (29 CFR 1910.178, initial and 3-year evaluation)
  • Mobile Elevating Work Platform (MEWP) training (29 CFR 1910.66, initial)
