Job Description
The Electronics Technician will perform hands-on assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of electronic control systems and automation components. In this role, you will diagnose issues down to the component level, support engineering with prototype builds and panel wiring, and ensure all products meet internal performance, safety, and quality standards. You will also maintain accurate documentation and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues and provide clear feedback from the field.
Responsibilities
- Assemble, test, and troubleshoot electronic control systems and automation components at the bench level.
- Diagnose electronic issues down to the component level using multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other diagnostic test equipment.
- Support the engineering team by preparing prototypes, wiring panels, and validating system functionality before customer delivery.
- Conduct repairs, calibrations, and quality checks to ensure all products meet internal performance and safety standards.
- Maintain accurate documentation of test results, repairs, and component usage within internal tracking, ERP, or ticketing systems.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to support assembly and troubleshooting activities.
- Assemble and wire control panels, harnesses, and cable assemblies according to specifications and quality requirements.
- Use diagnostic tools such as logic analyzers, signal generators, and power supplies to debug and verify electronic circuits.
- Handle and work with electronic components in accordance with ESD (electrostatic discharge) safe work practices.
- Perform basic programming or firmware loading on microcontrollers, Arduino boards, or similar embedded platforms as required.
- Collaborate with engineers, sales, and customer support teams to resolve technical issues and provide clear feedback from the field.
- Apply quality control processes and root-cause analysis methods to identify, document, and help prevent recurring issues.
- Manage multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize repairs and test activities, and work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment.
- Use strong written and verbal communication skills to document findings, update records, and share technical information with the team.
Essential Skills
- Hands-on experience with electronics assembly, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Strong soldering skills, including surface-mount and through-hole component work.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Experience using multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other electronic test equipment.
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools such as logic analyzers, signal generators, and power supplies.
- Experience assembling or wiring control panels, harnesses, or cable assemblies.
- Familiarity with PLCs, sensors, actuators, and basic automation hardware.
- Understanding of ESD (electrostatic discharge) handling and safe work practices.
- Basic programming or firmware loading experience with Arduino, microcontrollers, or similar platforms.
- Comfort using ERP or ticketing systems to log repairs, parts usage, and test results.
- Strong mechanical aptitude for working with enclosures, mounting hardware, and small tools.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize work, and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills for documenting findings and collaborating with engineering teams.
- Familiarity with quality control processes and root-cause analysis methods.

Work Environment
The role is based on a smaller production floor with dedicated electronics bench areas and office spaces at the front of the facility. You will work alongside approximately ten colleagues on the production floor in a hands-on environment that uses common electronic test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, signal generators, and power supplies. The pace is fast and focused on meeting quality and performance standards for electronic control systems and automation products. The company plans to move to a larger facility in Franklin and expand operations in September 2026, offering a growing and evolving work environment.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Norwood, MA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $28.00/hr.
