Research Associate (Pre-Award)

We are seeking a dedicated and highly organized Research Associate (Pre-Award) to lead the critical early stages of sponsored research proposal development. In this essential role, you'll support faculty in navigating complex funding opportunities, ensuring proposals meet all guidelines and deadlines. This position offers a dynamic environment where your expertise will directly contribute to groundbreaking research initiatives, making a lasting impact in higher education or medical research settings.
Compensation: $35.00/hr *

What you'll bring to the table: a proven track record in research administration, with hands-on experience in federal agencies like NIH, NSF, DOE, or DOD. Your exceptional organizational skills, combined with a strong understanding of federal regulations and sponsor requirements, will empower you to review, refine, and submit competitive proposals. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with faculty and internal departments to streamline processes and secure funding success.
Candidates should possess at least five years of experience in pre-award research administration, with recent exposure to at least three of the specified federal agencies. Experience supporting faculty within higher education or medical research institutions, mastery of electronic research administration tools such as eRA Commons, Research.gov, and Grants.gov, and a comprehensive understanding of federal and institutional policies are essential. The role requires a campus presence with about 90% in-person engagement to foster effective collaboration and support.
