Position Summary: Inner Tube Assembler Trainee
The Inner Tube Assembler is responsible for the optical system of the endoscope as well as ensuring that the product is free from visible dirt, dust, or scratches. This will include cleaning, bonding, checking, and testing the final product. Opportunities for growth within the company including: Inner Tube Technician, Inner Tube Specialist, or Inner Tube Coordinator.
Work Hours and Location: 40-hour work week in Dudley, MA with flexible work schedule after training period
Reports To: Designated Team Leader or Inner Tube Coordinator, where applicable
Essential Functions
Typical responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Disassembly of optical systems (unloading from tube)
- Clean and inspect unloaded optical components
- Alignment and rebuilding of optical systems
- Alignment and bonding of optical components
- Inspect for function and against specifications
- This position requires strong visual inspection skills
- Other duties as requested, directed, or assigned based on knowledge and training experience
Qualifications Required
- Microscope experience
- Ability to maintain precise hand eye coordination to perform detailed tasks with accuracy
Typical Physical Requirements
- Must be able to sit and use a microscope and/or an eye loop for up to 7 hours a day
- Must be in the position to utilize precise optical positioning equipment
- Must have excellent hand / eye coordination
- It is necessary to be able to walk between manufacturing equipment and workbench
Compensation & Benefits
- $17.87 – $18.87 per hour depending on experience. This range represents the amount the company reasonably and in good faith expect to pay for this role. Final compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and other job-related factors.

About Us
HSWOA was originally established as a service and repair facility for HSW GmbH's key North American customers. These customers are primarily medical equipment manufacturers and distributors of industrial instruments and equipment. The facility assembles new products and repairs instruments damaged during use, eliminating the long turnaround time involved in sending instruments to Germany for repairs. HSWOA activities focus on the medical endoscope.
