Job DescriptionWe are looking for an experienced Assistant Controller to join our team in Waltham, Massachusetts. This is a long-term contract position offering an exciting opportunity to manage key accounting functions and provide leadership in clinical trial accruals. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in ensuring accuracy and compliance while supporting the company's financial operations.

Responsibilities:
• Oversee accounts payable operations, ensuring timely processing and accuracy.
• Lead clinical trial accrual processes, maintaining precision and adherence to industry standards.
• Supervise and guide the senior accountant in day-to-day accounting tasks.
• Implement and maintain strong internal controls to ensure compliance with audit requirements.
• Collaborate with the Controller on strategic financial initiatives.
• Utilize software tools such as NetSuite, Coupa, and Concur to improve efficiency in accounting workflows.
• Prepare and review month-end close activities, ensuring all financial statements are accurate.
• Coordinate reporting requirements for the parent company, ensuring transparency and alignment with public company standards.
• Manage equity-related accounting using Carta and other relevant tools.
• Provide mentorship and leadership to the accounting team, fostering a culture of growth and accountability.• Extensive experience in biotech accounting, including clinical trial accruals.
• Proven background in public company reporting and internal controls.
• Strong familiarity with accounting software such as NetSuite, Coupa, and Excel.
• Knowledge of equity management platforms like Carta is highly preferred.
• Experience working in or collaborating with Big 4 accounting firms is a strong advantage.
• Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities and lead effectively.
• Excellent analytical skills with a detail-oriented approach to financial tasks.
• Solid understanding of audit practices and compliance requirements.
