We are seeking a dedicated Lead Pouch Machine Operator to join our team. You will be responsible for operating the pouch making machine, assisting with setup activities, and performing minor adjustments to ensure product quality. You will work closely with Pouch Making Testers and participate in continuous improvement activities. Your role will also include assisting with product changeovers, covering for breaks and lunches, and participating in corrective action teams as needed. Reporting any potential food safety, legality, quality, or food defense concerns is also a key part of this role. You must follow all documented Good Manufacturing Practices and company policies and procedures.

Pay: $20/hr, before shift differentials ($2 for 2nd shift, $3 for third)Shift: 2nd shift and 3rd shiftResponsibilities

  • Operate pouch making machine
  • Assist Sr. Leads with all setup activities
  • Perform minor adjustments to machinery to ensure product quality
  • Work closely with Pouch Making Testers to ensure product quality
  • Participate in various continuous improvement activities
  • Assist on product changeovers and cover for breaks and lunches as needed
  • Be part of corrective action teams as needed
  • Report any potential food safety, legality, quality, or food defense concerns
  • Follow all documented Good Manufacturing Practices
  • Maintain product safety, legality, regulatory compliance, and quality systems
  • Follow all company policies and procedures

Essential Skills

  • 3-5 years of experience in machine operation, production, and changeovers
  • Ability to set up and adjust machinery
  • Experience as a working shift lead for pouch making equipment
  • Ability to give direction and monitor pouch making operators
  • Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with blueprint reading

Work Environment

This role requires physical activity, including walking, using hands to handle objects, reaching with hands and arms, balancing, stooping, talking, and hearing. You must be able to lift and move up to 70 lbs. Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The work environment may expose you to high noise levels that require hearing protection, and you may also be required to wear safety glasses and/or safety gloves.

This is a Permanent position based out of West Bridgewater, Massachusetts.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45760.00 - $47840.00/yr.
