Job Description
The Manufacturing Technician operates within a machine shop environment to support grinding operations and precision machining. This role focuses on setting up and operating CNC Swiss machines, maintaining and troubleshooting equipment, and ensuring that high-quality precision components are produced according to specifications and blueprints.
Responsibilities
- Set up tooling and prepare CNC Swiss machines for production runs.
- Operate CNC Swiss machines to produce precision components to required specifications.
- Assist with grinding operations and general machining tasks in the machine shop.
- Monitor machine performance and ensure Swiss machines run properly throughout the shift.
- Troubleshoot machinery issues and diagnose problems to minimize downtime.
- Perform inspections of finished and in-process parts to verify quality and adherence to blueprints.
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine machining requirements.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to support safe and efficient operations.
Essential Skills
- 1+ year of experience in a manufacturing or machining environment.
- Hands-on CNC machining experience, particularly with CNC Swiss machines.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Experience with machine operation and basic troubleshooting.
- Inspection experience to verify part quality and dimensions.
- Ability to assist with grinding operations and general machining tasks.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working with CNC Swiss machine brands such as Tornos, Citizen, Star, or Tsugami.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality precision components.
- Ability to identify and diagnose mechanical or process issues on production equipment.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced production environment with minimal supervision.

Work Environment
This role is based in a machine shop environment with a standard shift from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. You will work around CNC Swiss machines and grinding equipment, frequently handling tooling and precision components. The setting is production-focused, with regular standing, walking, and interaction with machinery, and requires adherence to typical shop safety practices and appropriate industrial attire.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Woburn, MA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $27.00/hr.
