Qualifications

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience operating CNC machines in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Completion of a vocational or technical training program in machining is a plus.

Skills and Knowledge

• Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
• Experience with various materials, including metals and plastics.
• Strong mathematical skills and mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to use and read precision measuring tools accurately.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Commitment to maintaining a clean and organized workspace.

Key Responsibilities

• A primary focus on setup and operation of Gleason AM250 shaping machine.
• Secondary focus on gear deburring operations.
• Additional support operating CNCs including lathes, mills, and grinders, performing precision machining operations.
• Read and interpret blueprints, install, and adjust appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and materials.
• Monitor machine operations to detect malfunctions or deviations and make necessary adjustments to ensure the highest quality output.
• Perform in-process quality checks using precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges) to ensure parts meet tolerance requirements.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to machine operations, tooling, and materials.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and cleaning.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies.
• Maintain accurate production records and logs.

• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds.
• Manual dexterity and coordination for operating machinery and using precision tools.
• Good vision, including the ability to see small details and differentiate colors.

Working Conditions

• Work is performed in a manufacturing shop environment.
• Exposure to noise, dust, oils, and coolants is expected.
• Safety gear, including eye protection and steel-toed boots, is required at all times.
