Work Environment\n

The position is based in a climate-controlled office environment that facilitates daily interaction with department members and a network of healthcare professionals. While the role is largely remote, it may occasionally involve collaboration with colleagues and patients at our community health clinics to ensure a cohesive approach to patient care.

Key Responsibilities\n

  • Conduct thorough assessments to evaluate patients' mental health status, utilizing diagnostic tools—including the DSM-5—to inform individualized treatment plans that prioritize cultural sensitivity and unique patient needs.

  • Engage in continuous evaluation of patient progress, devising and implementing evidence-based interventions to optimize mental health outcomes and support recovery.
  • \n

  • Maintain accurate and timely treatment records and clinical documentation, adhering to regulatory standards and departmental procedures.
  • \n

  • Work in collaboration with patients and their support systems to create and adjust comprehensive treatment plans that align with desired outcomes and goals.
  • \n

  • Coordinate referrals and serve as a liaison between patients and other treatment providers, ensuring seamless access to necessary resources and support services.
  • \n

  • Contribute to the development of the next generation of mental health professionals through the mentorship and education of students, interns, and volunteers.

  • Participate actively in team meetings, offering insights and suggestions to enhance team effectiveness and patient care quality.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role primarily focuses on patients and families impacted by cancer, who may experience an array of emotional and psychological challenges. As an LICSW at Sarasota Memorial Medical Center, you will play an integral role in supporting these individuals—addressing their mental health needs through patient-centered care that acknowledges and respects their unique backgrounds and circumstances.

Qualifications\n

  • A Master’s degree in Social Work is required.

  • Current State License as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) is essential.

Preferred Experience\n

Experience working with oncology patients or in a community health setting is highly desirable. Candidates with advanced training in evidence-based therapeutic modalities will be particularly well-suited for this role.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The salary range for this position is between USD 90,000 and USD 105,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
