Job DescriptionWe are looking for an experienced Senior Real Estate Accountant to join our team in Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts. This is a contract-to-permanent position that offers an excellent opportunity for a skilled individual to contribute to our real estate investment operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fund accounting and real estate financial management, along with proficiency in industry-specific software such as Yardi and QuickBooks.
Responsibilities:
• Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliations.
• Utilize Yardi software for operational tasks such as security deposit tracking, vendor management, forecasting, and budgeting.
• Prepare fund-level reports and allocations, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
• Analyze and input real estate closing documentation, including reviewing and interpreting closing statements.
• Collaborate with the controller to streamline accounting processes and ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Monitor and maintain vendor records using tools like Vendor Café.
• Support forecasting and budget preparation to align with organizational goals.
• Ensure timely and accurate reconciliation of financial accounts and pools.
• Assist with asset-level and entity-level accounting tasks.
• Provide insights and recommendations to improve financial management practices.• Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on real estate and fund accounting.
• Advanced proficiency in Yardi software, including operational and forecasting modules.
• Strong knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliation processes.
• Experience with QuickBooks for managing financial transactions and reporting.
• Familiarity with real estate financial documentation, including closing statements.
• Ability to produce fund-level reports and handle complex financial allocations.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
