Job Description

The Electro-Mechanical Assembly Technician uses hand and power tools to build high-quality subassemblies and final assemblies from fabricated sheet metal, machined components, and electromechanical parts. This role follows schematics and manufacturing orders, performs in-process and incoming inspections, and maintains accurate production records while working independently as part of a small, collaborative team.

Responsibilities

  • Use basic hand tools and power tools to assemble subassemblies and final assemblies using fabricated sheet metal, machined components, and electromechanical parts.
  • Follow schematics, blueprints, and manufacturing orders to complete assemblies accurately and on schedule.
  • Perform inspections of in-process assemblies and incoming materials to verify quality and conformance to specifications.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate production and inspection records in accordance with internal procedures.
  • Use manual pallet jacks to safely move materials and assemblies around the production area.
  • Apply basic electrical skills, including wiring and soldering, as needed for electromechanical assemblies.
  • Work independently to complete assigned tasks while collaborating effectively with a small team.
  • Follow lean manufacturing principles where applicable to support continuous improvement and efficient workflows.
  • Adhere to all safety, quality, and housekeeping standards to maintain a clean and organized work area.

Essential Skills

  • At least 1 year of electromechanical assembly experience.
  • Proficiency using basic hand tools and power tools for mechanical and electromechanical assembly.
  • Ability to read and work from schematics, blueprints, and manufacturing orders.
  • Experience with mechanical assembly, including working with sheet metal and machined components.
  • Basic electrical skills, including wiring and soldering.
  • Ability to perform visual and dimensional inspections of in-process and incoming materials.
  • Basic computer literacy for accessing work instructions and maintaining records.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks throughout the shift.
  • Ability to work independently and manage assigned tasks with minimal supervision.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience working in a lean manufacturing environment is a strong plus.
  • Familiarity with blueprint reading and interpretation.
  • Comfort working in a small team environment and contributing to a collaborative culture.
  • Interest in taking on leadership responsibilities within the department as skills and experience grow.

Work Environment

This is a full-time, first-shift role with hours from 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The schedule includes two paid 15-minute breaks and one unpaid 30-minute lunch. You will work in a very clean, well-kept production environment as part of a small team, typically collaborating with three other people on a daily basis. The role involves regular use of hand and power tools, manual pallet jacks, and computer systems to support assembly and documentation activities.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Franklin, MA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr.
