Job Summary

As a Dog Groomer, you’ll help dogs look and feel their best through attentive grooming and compassionate care. You’ll assess each pet’s coat and needs, provide grooming services, and keep owners informed throughout the visit. Your impact: Careful handling and clear communication help pets stay comfortable and give owners confidence in their care.
Responsibilities
- Bathe, dry, brush, and style dogs’ coats using appropriate tools and techniques
- Trim nails and provide other routine grooming services while monitoring each pet’s comfort
- Use safe animal restraint and dog handling practices; adapt your approach to each animal
- Discuss grooming preferences and pet care needs with owners, and provide customer service throughout the visit
- Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow safe practices when lifting pets or supplies
Requirements
- Experience in pet grooming, pet coat styling, animal care, or companion animal handling is helpful
- Demonstrated animal handling skills, including dog handling and safe restraint; dog training knowledge is a plus
- Strong communication with pet owners and customer service skills
- Veterinary experience, including veterinary technician or veterinary assistant experience, is welcome but not required
- Equine experience, pet sitting experience, and comfort with heavy lifting are also valued; a caring, attentive approach to pet care is essential
Pay: $50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
