Position Summary
The MCP Tester is responsible for testing, inspecting, and verifying that Micro Channel Plates (MCPs) meet required electrical, visual, and quality specifications. This role involves operating test equipment, assembling and disassembling test fixtures, documenting results, entering data into computer systems, and supporting production activities as needed. The MCP Tester must demonstrate strong attention to detail, the ability to follow established procedures, and a commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities

Operate test equipment to verify that MCPs meet established electrical and visual specifications.

Assemble and disassemble test fixtures in accordance with work instructions and production requirements.

Clean, maintain, and repair test fixtures to ensure optimal performance.

Inspect parts for defects, irregularities, or nonconformances and escalate quality concerns as appropriate.

Accurately record test results, inspection findings, and other required production or quality data.

Enter required information into computer systems, databases, or production records.

Handle fragile and precision components with care to prevent damage or contamination.

Follow established procedures, work instructions, safety requirements, and quality standards.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

Support inventory control and cycle count activities when required.

Promote and encourage understanding and use of the ISO 9001-based Quality Management System.

Communicate effectively with production, quality, engineering, and operations personnel regarding test results, issues, or process concerns.

Perform other duties as needed.
Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Basic understanding of electrical measurements and test equipment.
-
Technical training or prior manufacturing experience preferred.

Previous experience in testing, quality control, inspection, cleanroom, precision assembly, or electronics manufacturing preferred.

Basic computer skills, including the ability to enter data and maintain accurate records.

Ability to read and follow written procedures, work instructions, and quality requirements.

Ability to perform repetitive tasks with accuracy and consistency.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.

Ability to perform math calculations including the conversion between different units of measurement.

Experience using Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Preferred Skills and Competencies

Experience testing and troubleshooting electronic, semiconductor, scientific, or detector-based products.

Experience utilizing digital and analog test equipment.

Strong visual inspection skills and ability to identify defects or irregularities.

Ability to use microscopes, inspection fixtures, scanning equipment, measurement tools, or related test equipment.

Good manual dexterity and ability to handle small, fragile, or precision components.

Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain accurate documentation.

Sound judgment when identifying potential nonconformances or escalating concerns.

Experience working in a cleanroom manufacturing environment.

Ability to work independently while also contributing to a team environment.
