Job Title: Production Worker

Job Description

This role starts as a temporary production worker performing hands-on, labor-intensive tasks to support plant operations. You will help keep production running smoothly by handling materials, cleaning equipment and molds, and assisting with general tasks throughout the facility. Over time, you will gain exposure to machine operation and other aspects of production while working in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general labor tasks such as shoveling debris, cleaning molds, and moving materials to support daily production activities.
  • Assist with production processes by providing support in various areas of the plant as directed.
  • Ensure all produced and packaged products meet or exceed established quality standards.
  • Move raw materials, finished products, and packaged items to designated locations in the facility.
  • Inspect finished products for physical defects and replace any defective items with acceptable products.
  • Accurately identify, label, and tag packaged products in line with company standards and procedures.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area and assist with cleaning other plant areas as directed by the supervisor.
  • Participate in end-of-shift and end-of-day clean-up procedures to keep equipment and workspaces safe and orderly.
  • Follow all plant safety protocols, standard operating procedures, and company policies at all times.
  • Assist with machine operation and troubleshooting as needed under the guidance of plant leadership.
  • Undertake additional tasks, special projects, and cross-training opportunities as required by the company.

Essential Skills

  • Previous industrial such as manufacturing, landscaping, construction, warehouse, or similar environment.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English to follow instructions, safety procedures, and documentation.
  • Ability to stand for a 12-hour shift on a regular basis.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds consistently throughout the shift.
  • Comfort working with hand tools, power tools, and general production equipment.
  • Experience with general labor, production, or construction tasks.
  • Basic understanding of machine operation and willingness to learn machine operating processes.
  • Commitment to following safety procedures and maintaining a safe work environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Forklift experience is a strong plus.
  • Current or prior forklift certification is highly beneficial.
  • Experience in paver manufacturing or concrete-related production environments is a plus.
  • general production, packing, or material handling.
  • Familiarity with concrete, construction materials, or similar heavy industrial products.
  • Ability to assist with basic troubleshooting of machines under supervision.
  • Strong work ethic and reliability in a high-overtime environment.

Work Environment

This position operates on 12-hour shifts, with a regular day shift from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and a night shift from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. A shift differential is available for night shift once you become a permanent employee. The role offers substantial overtime potential, typically working five 12-hour shifts Monday through Friday. You will work in a loud industrial setting that includes both indoor and outdoor areas. The environment can be hot in the summer and cold in the winter, and it can become dusty at times due to working with concrete and cleaning machines. The work can be dirty, and you should be comfortable performing physically demanding tasks in this type of setting. The facility provides a modern break room and outdoor break area for rest periods, and the company reimburses up to a set amount annually for steel-toe footwear, which supports a practical and safety-focused dress code.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Uxbridge, MA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
