We’re seeking a& Plant& Operations Manager& to oversee daily operations an industrial manufacturing company in Ayer. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for ensuring smooth, safe, and efficient production while maintaining the highest standards of quality, environmental compliance, and equipment performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day operations of automated production systems and equipment
- Lead, coach, and schedule a small team (3 employees) to ensure productivity, safety, and quality
- Operate production machinery and heavy equipment as needed to support daily workflow
- Assist machine operators on the floor and troubleshoot basic issues to keep production running smoothly
- Maintain compliance with OSHA, DEP, and environmental/safety requirements
- Analyze production, downtime, and performance data to identify process improvements using LEAN concepts
- Ensure facility readiness to accept incoming materials and deliver finished products on time
- Support special projects that improve efficiency, sustainability, and plant performance
- Manage day-to-day operations of the facility’s automated production systems and equipment
- Direct and coordinate production activities to achieve output, quality, and safety goals
- Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance to minimize downtime
- Work with environmental and safety consultants to maintain full regulatory compliance (OSHA, DEP, etc.)
- Lead, coach, and schedule facility staff to maximize productivity and maintain a safe, organized work environment
- Analyze production and performance data to identify process improvements using LEAN concepts
- Ensure readiness of the facility to accept materials and deliver quality products on time
- Manage special projects that enhance efficiency, sustainability, and profitability
