Reports to: President/CEO and Vice President of Human Resources
Supervises: Marketing & Engagement Associate Manager
Location: Chatham Office

  • Note: Initial training will take place at our Eastham Office. Office locations are subject to change; however, ample notice will be provided in advance of any relocation.





Job Summary

The Director of Marketing leads the strategic direction, development, and execution of all marketing, branding, and communications initiatives for Cape Associates. This role oversees the companys presence across digital and traditional channels, ensuring brand consistency and measurable impact. The Director will manage the marketing budget, direct campaigns, oversee digital platforms, and collaborate across departments to promote business growth and community engagement.

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and manage the annual marketing and advertising budget; provide quarterly updates to the President/CEO.
  • Design, implement, and manage the annual marketing and advertising calendar.
  • Maintain and strengthen the companys brand identity across all platforms, materials, and touchpoints.
  • Lead strategic planning for campaigns and initiatives to support business objectives.
  • Serve as a key member of the leadership team, contributing to overall company strategy and growth.

Digital Marketing & Advertising

  • Develop, negotiate, and optimize all marketing campaigns, including print, social media, SEO, SEM, Google Ads, and content marketing.
  • Manage social media strategy and execution across platforms (via Hootsuite); monitor engagement and track performance metrics.
  • Oversee and manage HubSpot for CRM, email marketing, and analytics, including weekly internal newsletters and other additional email blasts for various departments.
  • Utilize Canva and other design tools to support brand-compliant visual content creation.
  • Manage the companys WordPress website, maintaining all content, functionality, and SEO best practices.
  • Lead web development projects and oversee full website updating initiatives.

Content, PR, and Community Relations

  • Write, edit, and distribute press releases; manage media contact lists and editorial relationships.
  • Coordinate with magazine editors for project features in relevant publications.
  • Prepare award submission packages (e.g., BRICC every 2 years; PRISM annually).
  • Oversee creation of all marketing collateral, presentations, firm profile books, and proposal materials.
  • Develop compelling digital and print content that supports brand storytelling and business development efforts.

Event & Engagement Management

  • Plan and execute trade shows, community events, and customer-facing experiences (in collaboration with the Marketing & Engagement Associate Manager and the Associate Director of Human Resources).
  • Lead company event planning and employee engagement initiatives (with the Marketing & Engagement Associate Manager).
  • Oversee project photography and videography, ensuring consistent brand standards.
  • Partner with industry representatives for co-branding and sponsorship opportunities.

Represent Cape Associates at industry, networking, and community events to strengthen visibility and leadership presence. Some of these events will take place off-hours such as weekday evenings and/or weekends. A marketing representative is expected to attend all community events, award celebrations, recruiting events, industry events that Cape Associates participated in either in the past or in the future.

Operational & Administrative Oversight

  • Maintain and update contact databases; oversee annual data cleanup with the Marketing & Engagement Associate Manager and the Associate Director of Human Resources.
  • Manage all company signage (office, vehicle, and job site).
  • Lead intake process reporting and provide insights to management.
  • Conduct legal and compliance research related to marketing and advertising as needed.
  • Support philanthropic initiatives and community giving strategy in partnership with the management team.
  • Manage special projects assigned by the executive team.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field (Masters preferred).
  • 7+ years of marketing experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Proficiency in:
    • Hootsuite (social media management)
    • HubSpot (CRM, email marketing, analytics)
    • Canva or Adobe Creative Suite (graphic design)
    • WordPress (content and site management)
    • Google Ads, Google Analytics, and SEO/SEM strategy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong project management, budgeting, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to balance strategic vision with hands-on execution.
  • Experience in the construction, architecture, or related industry a plus.

Physical Requirements:

  • This is largely a sitting role; however, some standing and movement is required. This includes the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.
