Contract Scientist – siRNA & RNA Therapeutics
Location: Cambridge, MA | Department: Biotherapeutics & Genetic Medicine (BGM) | Type: Contract
Are you excited by the potential of RNA-based therapies to transform medicine? We’re seeking a Contract Scientist to join our siRNA research team within the Biotherapeutics and Genetic Medicine (BGM) department. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the design and execution of innovative experimental approaches that address key scientific challenges in oligonucleotide therapeutics.
What You’ll Do
- Lead research efforts to advance siRNA platform development for therapeutic applications
- Design and execute experiments independently, delivering high-quality, reproducible results
- Apply a broad range of cell and molecular biology techniques to support RNA-based drug discovery
- Analyze and interpret complex data to guide future research directions
- Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to drive innovation and solve technical challenges
- Contribute to internal reports, presentations, and potentially intellectual property filings
- Support continuous improvement in experimental design, assay development, and lab efficiency
What You Bring
- PhD in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or related field (MS with 8+ years of relevant experience will also be considered)
- Strong hands-on experience in:
- Mammalian cell culture
- mRNA isolation and quantification (qPCR, sequencing – NGS/Sanger)
- Protein analysis (ELISA, Western blot)
- Experience in oligonucleotide therapeutics is a strong plus
- Familiarity with CNS disease models and DNA/RNA editing tools is highly desirable
- Proven ability to design and execute experiments efficiently and creatively
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic research environment

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $70.00/hr.
