Job Description

InnoTECH Staffing is looking to hire a Senior / Principal Engineer for an exciting start-up in the Boston/Cambridge area. This requires being onsite 5 days a week. Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident.

Senior / Principal Electrical Engineer – Innovative Medical Diagnostics

Join an exciting, high-growth medical technology company developing a next-generation diagnostic point of care platform designed to transform how diseases are detected and treated. This is an opportunity to play a key role in bringing innovative diagnostic technology closer to the patient—helping deliver rapid, actionable results during a single office visit.

As a Senior or Principal Electrical Engineer you will have significant ownership of the electronics development for a sophisticated medical device platform. You’ll work across the full product development lifecycle, from electrical architecture and circuit design through prototype development, system integration, debugging, verification, and transition toward production.

What You’ll Do

  • Own the electrical engineering design of a complex diagnostic platform, including system architecture, PCB design, power management, signal integrity, and hardware/software integration.
  • Design innovative electronics supporting motion control, fluidics, thermal management, and optical detection.
  • Lead prototype bring-up, troubleshooting, debugging, and hardware validation.
  • Partner closely with mechanical, software, systems, and scientific/assay teams to develop a fully integrated product.
  • Drive electrical requirements and ensure robust system-level performance.
  • Support hardware verification, validation, and product development from early prototypes through production.
  • Develop technical documentation within a regulated medical device environment.
  • Help shape the technology, processes, and engineering culture as the company continues to grow.

What You Bring

  • B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • 4+ years of industry experience in electrical engineering and product development.
  • Strong background in analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuit design.
  • Experience with embedded systems and microcontroller-based designs.
  • Strong PCB schematic capture and layout experience.
  • Experience with one or more of the following: precision thermal control, motor control, fluidic systems, optical detection, or instrumentation.
  • Experience developing hardware for medical devices or other regulated products, ideally within ISO 13485 / IEC 61010 environments.
  • Experience with hardware verification, validation, troubleshooting, and debugging throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Familiarity with PCB fabrication, assembly, manufacturing, and test.

Why This Opportunity?

This is a chance to join a mission-driven technology company at the forefront of medical diagnostics and have a direct impact on a product that could meaningfully improve patient care. You’ll have the opportunity to work on challenging, multidisciplinary engineering problems while helping take innovative technology from concept through commercialization.

If you’re an electrical engineer who enjoys ownership, hands-on development, complex technical challenges, and seeing your work become a real medical product, this is an opportunity worth exploring.
