Department: Food and Beverage

Reports to: 1606 Restaurant & Bar General Manager

Purpose: To assist in the operations of Food & Beverage. Will function as an attendant in room service and in the 1606 Restaurant & Oyster Bar as food runner.

Will tend to any tasks needed to assure a pleasant and efficient guest experience.

Essential Functions:

  • Stock glassware, sugar caddies, prepare roll ups, be sure all trays and mats are clean in room service area
  • Filling and replenishing ice in room service area
  • Set up and organize room service trays with necessary items as directed by management
  • Assist service staff with any restocking of food products, utensils, or table set-ups during busy times
  • Maintain cleanliness by washing trays, wiping down all doors, chairs, tables, and surfaces in room service area, organizing room service area, sweeping and quick-mopping floors when needed, wiping down menus, etc.
  • Follow hygiene guidelines and adhere to company uniform and standards of appearance policy
  • Must be knowledgeable in all menu items
  • Provide courteous service to our guests and be cordial to all team members.
  • Communicate effectively to guests and co-workers
  • Impart to the customer warmth and graciousness, much as you would give a guest in your own home
  • Clean and maintain all working areas and equipment.
  • Complete designated side work efficiently and thoroughly
  • Represent a positive working liaison with all other members of the kitchen and front of house staff
  • Complete all listed opening and closing checklists, cleaning checklists, and duties related to shift
  • Close out and check out with manager once shift is complete
  • Practice cleanliness and safety in all dining areas, liquor and wine storage areas
  • Participate in daily staff meetings and department training meetings
  • Assist in training new employees and helping others
  • Assist team members as needed to promote a positive teamwork environment
  • Assist in trash removal and proper removal of broken glass
  • Coordinate food orders to ensure timely and efficient delivery to each table.
  • Works with team members to serve each course's plated dishes to seated guests, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to established service standards.
  • Assist in providing superior guest experience in delivering high quality food items.
  • Respond to questions with informed answers of each dish.
  • Maintain stock and cleanliness of stations for all meal periods with necessary equipment including silverware and condiments.
  • Work in a team to serve guests with water, breads and butter to begin their dining experience and replenish as necessary.
  • Practice cleanliness and safety in all dining areas, liquor and wine storage areas.
  • Assist in transporting all dirty tableware from dining room to dishwashing area for proper cleaning.

Job Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for 8 hours' length of time
  • Ability to walk and/or stand approximately 90% of shift
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs on a regular and continuous basis
  • Ability to bend frequently during a shift
  • Ability to repetitively use manual dexterity
  • Ability to perform repetitive range of motion
  • Ability to move quickly based on needs
  • Ability to reach overhead and lift repeatedly
  • Ability to read, write, understand and speak English
  • Requires a working knowledge of Food & Beverage service
  • Familiarity with industry relevant Point of Sales systems
  • Ability to practice and adhere to all safety requirements
  • The base wage of $11/hr plus tips is calculated upon historical averages and seasonality with total compensation typically ranging between $18-$21/hr.

Working Environment:

  • Work will primarily take place in the Restaurant, Front and Back of house areas, and Food & Beverage service areas.
  • Interior and Exterior of the Restaurant, exposure to sun, heat, cold and changing weather conditions.

  • At least 1 year serving experience in a full-service restaurant required, hotel environment preferred
