Fund Accounting Assistant Controller - PE - Boston - Hybrid

A leading Boston-based PE firm is seeking an Assistant Controller to support their accounting, reporting, and operational finance functions.

\n

This is a great opportunity for an experienced fund accounting professional who enjoys working across various teams and is interested in driving automation and process improvement.

\n

Responsibilities:

\n

    \n
  • Manage accounting and financial reporting for private equity funds, co-investment vehicles, and continuation funds
  • \n

  • Oversee third-party fund administrators and quarterly/annual close processes
  • \n

  • Prepare and review financial statements, partner capital accounts, and supporting schedules
  • \n

  • Manage capital calls, distributions, reserves, and investor reporting
  • \n

  • Support investment transaction accounting, treasury activities, and annual partnership audits
  • \n

  • Ensure compliance with partnership agreements, GAAP, and regulatory requirements
  • \n

  • Partner with tax, legal, investment, and finance teams on cross-functional initiatives
  • \n

  • Identify opportunities to improve workflows through automation, data analytics, and emerging AI technologies
  • \n

  • Strengthen financial processes, controls, and reporting efficiency
  • \n

Qualifications:

\n

    \n
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, CPA strongly preferred
  • \n

  • 6+ years of experience
  • \n

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and partnership accounting
  • \n

  • Experience working with fund administrators, auditors, and investment professionals
  • \n

  • Familiarity with fund accounting systems and financial reporting platforms
  • \n

  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills
  • \n

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • \n

  • Interest in automation, data analytics, and AI-driven process improvement
  • \n
