OVERVIEW

Performs credit analysis for new money loan requests and annual loan reviews on existing loans in the commercial loan department as assigned, in conformance with established policies, procedures and objectives. Be highly coachable in learning the GCB underwriting methods. Performs all duties in accordance with prescribed regulatory and compliance guidelines.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepares financial analyses of new and/or existing credits. Makes interpretive analysis of corporate financial statements and tax returns (including spreading financial statements when appropriate) with trend analysis and comparison to industry peers, analysis of Personal Financial Statements, tax returns and credit reports with debt-to-income ratio calculations and prepares Commercial Loan Proposals for use in loan decision making and Commercial Loan Reviews for use in assessing risk ratings for existing loan relationships.
  • Assist in maintenance of systems to ensure commercial loan files are organized and contain up to date financial statements, real estate appraisals, current proof of insurance, officer memorandums, loan reviews and any other items that may be requested from time to time.
  • Become proficient in utilizing The LoanVantage commercial software platform
  • Responds to a variety of inquiries and confirmations on commercial loan customers. Complete credit inquiries, property inspections, and other loan related inquiries as needed.
  • Prepare monthly and other recurring reports for use in Board reports and administration of commercial loan portfolio.
  • Assist in preparing loan presentations for the Account Officers and Board and Security Committee meetings.
  • Performs related and unrelated duties as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in finance or accounting plus 6-12 months related banking experience, or equivalent specialized course work and training plus one year credit related experience desired. Reasonable knowledge of accounting, credit analysis and loan documentation a plus. Good analytical, communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Crystal, and Insight software preferred.
