A growing manufacturing organization is seeking a Senior Mechanical Designer to join its team. This role is ideal for a highly skilled SolidWorks professional with extensive sheet metal design experience who can work independently while serving as a mentor and technical resource to junior designers.

Responsibilities

- Create detailed 3D models, assemblies, and fabrication drawings using SolidWorks.
- Design sheet metal components and assemblies for manufacturing applications.
- Develop and maintain accurate drawings, bills of materials, and related documentation.
- Work closely with manufacturing and production teams to ensure designs are practical and manufacturable.
- Manage design projects independently with minimal oversight.
- Review drawings and designs for accuracy, consistency, and adherence to company standards.
- Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to junior designers.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to drafting, design standards, and documentation practices.

Qualifications

- Strong proficiency with SolidWorks.
- Extensive experience designing sheet metal components and assemblies.
- Deep understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes, tolerances, and manufacturing methods.
- Ability to create complete drawing packages and manufacturing documentation.
- Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Experience mentoring or leading less experienced designers.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Associate degree in Mechanical Design, Drafting, CAD Technology, or equivalent experience preferred.
