Job Title: Heat Treater Helper
Job Description
This role supports the heat treat process by preparing and racking large bolts for furnace processing in a modern heat treat facility. You will handle 12–18 inch bolts, load them carefully into metal racks, and work closely with heat treat operators to ensure products are properly prepared and coated during the heat treatment cycle.
Responsibilities
- Receive manufactured screws and bolts from the main manufacturing building and prepare them for heat treatment.
- Individually place 12–18 inch bolts into metal racks, ensuring proper spacing and positioning so they are coated evenly in the heat treat furnace.
- Handle and move metal racks safely and efficiently within the heat treat building.
- Work alongside heat treat operators to support the overall heat treat process and maintain smooth production flow.
- Follow production, racking, and general labor procedures to meet quality and productivity standards.
- Perform general production and packaging tasks as needed to support the team.
- Unload materials and components as required to keep workstations stocked and organized.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area in accordance with facility guidelines.
- Stand and work on your feet for extended periods, including full 12-hour shifts on weekends.
- Follow all safety policies and procedures while working around heat treat equipment and in a production environment.
Essential Skills
- Proven attendance and reliability as demonstrated by prior employment.
- Ability to perform general production and general labor tasks in a manufacturing environment.
- Capability to handle and rack bolts and screws accurately and efficiently.
- Comfort working on your feet for at least 8–12 hours per shift.
- Experience with racking, unloading, and basic material handling.
- Willingness to work weekend shifts on Saturdays and Sundays.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in general production, construction, packaging, or similar hands-on roles.
- Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Comfort working closely with production and heat treat operators as part of a team.
- Attention to detail when handling and positioning parts for processing.

Work Environment
This position is based in a state-of-the-art heat treat facility within a larger manufacturing operation. You will work primarily in the heat treat building and racking rooms, alongside experienced heat treat operators. The role requires standing for 12-hour shifts, specifically on a weekend schedule of Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Racking rooms are being built to be temperature controlled, providing a more comfortable environment while you work with metal racks and bolts. The facility operates as a production environment with active equipment, and you will follow standard industrial safety practices and attire appropriate for a manufacturing setting.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Agawam, MA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.60 - $21.60/hr.
