About the role

Our R&D team is dedicated to advancing excellence and pioneering new technologies. We are searching for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to develop our next generation osmometers for clinical and biopharma applications.
The Senior Mechanical Engineer will collaborate with the Engineering Manager to develop, refine, and validate the next generation of osmometers. You will work cross-functionally with electrical, firmware, and clinical teams to ensure our osmometers perform accurately and reliably to our customers’ satisfaction.

What you’ll do
- Design and model complex mechanical assemblies, focusing on function, performance and high reliability.
- Sets up and conducts non-standard or product-specific evaluation tests of prototypes. Records observations and data, analyzes and interprets results and prepares summary reports.
- Collaborate with electrical engineers to optimize the "physical layer" of the instrument—optimizing mechanical movement, thermal management, and robustness.
- Keeps abreast of new and emerging technologies, processes and components in one or more areas of engineering expertise. Participates in evaluating the technical feasibility and benefits of incorporating recent developments into new and enhanced products.
- Generate detailed design documentation, including drawings, BOMs, and DHF (Design History File) entries in compliance with ISO 13485 and FDA QSR requirements.
- Participates in Design and Drawing Reviews as required.
- Participates in troubleshooting and mitigation in sustaining engineering.
- Interfaces regularly with Purchasing and Manufacturing as required.
What we are looking for in you
- Lab and bench experience with mechanical systems.
- Proficiency with SolidWorks (PDM, Simulation a plus).
- Experience with DFM/DFA, GD&T, and prototyping.
- Ability to work with structures, thermals, and fluidics.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Minimum of 5-7 years’ experience in engineering R&D environment.
- Sustaining engineering experience desired.
- Specific design experience in electronics packaging, sheet metal and non-metallic enclosures.
- Knowledgeable in materials selection and mechanical fabrication and assembly processes.
- Knowledgeable in motion control systems.
- Able to work effectively and productively in a project team environment or as an individual assigned to a project.
- Strong experience designing and documenting electromechanical products using SolidWorks. Experience with SolidWorks PDM preferable.
- Proficiency in experimentation, data analysis, and presentation.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment.
- Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills.
- BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering.

- Must be capable of communicating with stakeholders through various means.

Work Location: On-site in Norwood Schedule/Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm
Targeted Salary Range: $130k - 145k
