<p>The Town of Worthington is soliciting letters of interest and resumes from qualified candidates to fill the position of Highway Superintendent. Location: Highway Garage 64 Huntington Road, Worthington, MA  Job Description/Essential Functions:  The essential functions or duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various type of work that may be performed. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment to the position.  O Responsible for overseeing the repair and maintenance of Town roadways, catch basins, and bridges  O Plan and assign work to employees and inspects the work of semi-skilled and un-skilled employees engaged in the maintenance, construction, and repair of streets, traffic control, sidewalks, catch basins, manholes and storm drains in accordance with local, state and federal regulations  O Determine estimated cost and materials/supplies required to perform department projects in a timely, safe and efficient manner  O Supervise the construction and repair of bridges, fences, town streets, inspects street openings and the construction or maintenance work of contractors and utility companies involving the public way to ensure public safety  O Develop and implement employee safety training programs  O Oversee the maintenance and repair of department equipment in safe operating condition  O Conduct or assist in the training of employees including safety methods, environmental compliance and on-the-job training; maintains related records  O Plan and organize the department's snow removal and salt/sand applications  O Responsible for the preparation and submission of paperwork to be eligible for state funding (i.e. Chapter 90)  O Responsible for the purchase of department materials, supplies and equipment in accordance with the State Procurement Law and budget appropriations  O Attend training seminars to maintain knowledge of construction and maintenance techniques and practices of roads as well as safety practices  O Perform a variety of related duties  This is a full-time, benefited position which requires thorough knowledge of the principles, practices and techniques of highway department maintenance, construction and procurement. Salary rate range: $69,513.60 - $101,254.40 with annual COLA and STEP adjustments as well as possible winter overtime. 5 - 10 years of experience preferred.
