Job Description

<li>Contributes as part of a small team towards the execution and development of various analytical methods to support biological therapeutic characterization testing in a research-based environment.</li>
<li>Works closely with adjacent team members to collaborate and reach collective goals related to study designs and organization of shared lab space.</li>

Qualifications

POSITION SUMMARY 
Performs lab testing and associated activities within the Microbiology section, including Serology, Virology and Parasitology.
Essential Position Duties 
<ul>
<li>Reviews the daily specimen management report.</li>
<li>Troubleshoots and maintains the LIS and instruments interface and software.</li>
<li>Performs Clostidium difficile assays.</li>
<li>Resolves client problems as needed.</li>
<li>Performs and records all quality assurances systems required to maintain precision and accuracy, including proficiency testing.</li>
<li>Performs other tasks and procedures in Microbiology as required which are commensurate with education, training and experience.</li>
<li>Assists in maintaining adequate inventory of supplies.</li>
<li>Record lot numbers and ensures compliance with State requirements for documentation of lot numbers with quality control and specimen records.</li>
<li>Performs all clerical functions associated with the department.</li>
<li>Reads bacterial and viral cultures. Performs biochemical identification procedures as necessary and record MIC results. </li>
<li>Follows all safety protocols as outlines in safety manual.</li>
<li>Identifies and pursues self improvement needs.</li>
<li>Seeks coaching/mentoring when appropriate.</li>
<li>Performs other duties as assigned</li>
