The versatile Maintenance Technician is responsible for a wide range of tasks, including preventive and routine facility maintenance such as general repairs, plumbing, painting, and equipment relocation. All work is performed on the campus of Worcester Academy and in the school buildings.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND KEY OBJECTIVES
· Making repairs to equipment, machinery, plumbing, heating and wiring
· Conduct regular inspections to identify repairs or safety hazards and report issues promptly
· Perform a wide range of repair tasks, including structural damages, such as window, door or wall repairs
· Repair broken or leaking plumbing to avoid water damages and restore full use of water fixtures
· Make routine electrical repairs such as replacing small motors, lamp replacement and electrical fixtures
· Move equipment, furniture, and boxes; assist with deliveries and manage materials 
· Assist with room setup and tear down involving equipment, furniture, and materials before and after campus events
· Painting when tasked
· Serve as member of campus snow removal team
· Fix and repair potential safety hazards to avoid injuries
· Participate in keeping Academy facilities operating efficiently and in a safe manner.
· Responsible for completing work orders or verbal assignments as assigned in a reasonable time frame
· Assist other maintenance personnel as assigned by supervisor
· Maintain clean work environment during assignment and thorough clean-up after completion
· Secure all areas where work has been completed or is in process
· Work additional hours as required to meet the needs of the school
· Responsible for all tools handled and stored in the Maintenance Areas

Responsibilities:

<li>Draft and review pleadings, motions, and other litigation-related documents in product liability or complex litigation matters.</li>
<li>Prepare, analyze, and respond to written discovery and manage discovery exchanged with multiple parties.</li>
<li>Develop case strategies, defenses, and trial themes with increasing autonomy, supported by mentorship and collaboration.</li>
<li>Research and analyze state and federal case law, statutes, and regulatory frameworks applicable to complex litigation matters.</li>
<li>Interview, prepare, and work with fact witnesses, expert witnesses, and corporate representatives for testimony in litigation and regulatory proceedings.</li>
<li>Take and defend depositions of lay witnesses, experts, and corporate representatives.</li>
<li>Argue motions and participate in court appearances under appropriate supervision.</li>
<li>Draft pretrial reports and assist with case evaluations, exposure analysis, and risk assessments.</li>
<li>Participate in mediations, settlement conferences, status conferences, and hearings.</li>
<li>Contribute to creative problem-solving and strategic planning for case resolution.</li>
<li>Assist with settlement negotiations with plaintiffs and opposing counsel.</li>
