This job is about 80% Mechanical design, and about 20% experience with electrical controls.
B.S. degree is preferred, not required.
U.S. Citizens or green cards only

- Work with Control Panel manufacturer to specify the control panel and get quotation
- Be able to debug Control Panel and put it through a FAT (A FAT is a Factory Acceptance Test that is done on a PLC panel before it is sent to its end location and put to use). *Note: you should add FAT or “factory acceptance test” to your search when looking for new candidates.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- This candidate should understand (or have knowledge of) P&ID diagrams (P&ID = Piping and Instrumentation Diagram) – they use SMAP software for their P&ID diagrams – this engineer won’t have to use SMAP to design anything electrical, but if they are familiar with it, or understand it, or to have used it in the past, that would be a “plus” (not a “must”).
- Spec out components such as electrical sensors, air filter sensors, relativity humidity sensors, etc.), which go into their product.
- Be able to read and understand ladder diagrams and schematics
- Work with the local vendor to spec out diagrams and control systems of the control box provided by their vendor
- Once they get the control panel from the vendor, they will need to do acceptance testing and debugging on it -- they refer t this as "FAT" (Factory Acceptance Testing) knowledge or experience is desirable.
- The Engineer will not be designing this control box or doing any wiring; they just need to understand the specs and the diagrams.
