About the Company:
A leading national provider of fire protection, security, and communication systems is seeking an experienced Fire Sprinkler Journeyman to join its growing fire protection team. The company designs, installs, inspects, and maintains fire and life safety systems for commercial, industrial, and institutional facilities.
Position Overview:
The Fire Sprinkler Journeyman is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, service, and repair of fire sprinkler systems in accordance with state and NFPA codes. This position requires a licensed professional who can work independently, communicate effectively with customers, and ensure all systems meet compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect, test, service, and maintain wet, dry, pre-action, and deluge fire sprinkler systems.
- Identify deficiencies, perform repairs, and verify system functionality.
- Read and interpret blueprints, plans, and system drawings.
- Communicate clearly with customers and office staff to ensure documentation and reports are accurate and completed on time.
- Ensure compliance with NFPA standards, local codes, and safety procedures.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicle in good working condition.
- Participate in company training and maintain required licenses and certifications.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Valid Fire Sprinkler Journeyman License (MA or equivalent).
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- 2+ years of experience servicing or installing fire sprinkler systems.
- Strong understanding of fire protection systems and applicable NFPA codes.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work at heights or on ladders as needed.
