The Department of Radiology at Stanford University School of Medicine is searching for a full-time Fellow for the Division of Breast Imaging for the 2020-2021 academic year (7/1/2020-6/30/2021). This position will allow Stanford to train three Breast Imaging Fellows per year in a busy and growing academic practice.
Stanford's Breast Imaging Fellowship offers comprehensive training in digital breast tomosynthesis (DBT) mammography, diagnostic breast ultrasound, automated whole breast ultrasound, breast MRI, image guided breast biopsies, and image guided breast localizations using wire and wireless techniques. A robust Fellowship education series is offered that includes monthly journal clubs and didactic lectures. Research time is provided for academic projects. Ongoing research includes mammography quality and outcomes, MRI novel sequences, device development, artificial intelligence, and tissue biomarkers.
Stanford Hospitals and Clinics performs breast imaging at two diagnostic sites and at associated screening locations. The diagnostic site on Stanford University campus is currently undergoing expansion to create a state-of-the-art breast imaging patient environment and allow for clinical growth. Stanford is an NCI-designated Cancer Center, recognized for cancer scientific leadership, resources and research.
The position will be in the clinical, teaching and service activities of the Breast Imaging Division. Candidates must have graduated a certified radiology residency, have a California Medical license, be American Board of Radiology (ABR) certified or have passed the first portion of the ABR boards prior to the appointment start date.
