CBRE Heery seeks a Sr. Interior Designer for our Atlanta office
Expert in all conventional aspects of technical design/architectural principles. Plans and conducts tasks requiring independent judgement in the evaluation, selection and substantial adaptation and modification of standard design techniques and procedures. Supervises others in areas where precedents are not clearly established. Assists with building client relations, along with identifying new opportunities within Business Development.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Day to day responsibility for developing design concepts, based on the programming requirements and budget parameters and coordinating project documentation. Coordinates activities of team engaged in preparing construction and furniture drawings and specifications. Responsible for manpower budgets, project cost controls and interpreting contracted scope of work. Coordinates with outside consultants. Reviews and/or develops specifications. Coordinates engineering disciplines with Project Manager assistance. Reviews and monitors construction and furnishings budget. Implements established design schedule ensuring milestone reviews. Responsible for code research, including obtaining necessary variance approvals. Provides project administration and QA/QC process. Works with Project Lead in obtaining bids and awarding construction contracts.
No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position. Provides informal assistance such as technical guidance, and/or training to coworkers. May lead project teams and/or plan and supervise assignments of lower level employees.
6+ years experience.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
B.A. or B.F.A. in Interior Design from Council for Interior Design Accreditation curriculum or B.A. in Architecture from accredited architectural curriculum (National Architectural Accrediting Board or Canadian Architectural Certification Board).
CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES
NCIDQ (National Council for Interior Design Qualification) certification.
Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex business documents. Ability to respond effectively to sensitive issues. Ability to write reports, manuals, speeches and articles using distinctive style. Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on complex topics to employees, clients and/or public groups. Ability to motivate and negotiate effectively with key employees and client groups to take desired action.
