**This position is located at the Black Belt Research & Extension Center in Marion Junction, Alabama.
The individual selected for this position will provide assistance in the coordination, management, and oversight of the overall operation of the unit.
He/she will work with staff to fulfill the daily tasks and the overall mission of the center, as well as interact with faculty, local officials, industry, and public schools.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: Supervise lower level employees and assist with coordinating the scheduling of daily activities; prepare equipment, areas, and supplies needed for ongoing research projects; operate, maintain, and repair research equipment; assist with maintenance of grounds and facilities; collect and maintain records and data; and perform other duties as assigned.
Entry into the applicant pool requires a high school diploma or equivalent plus four (4) years of experience in agricultural operations and/or agricultural research.
Essential knowledge of research design and implementation and practical ability to maintain computerized records, maintain and inspect equipment and facilities, and conduct routine management procedures is required as well as a valid driver's license or the ability to obtain one prior to selection.
